I was born in March 1967 in Thailand as a product of the Vietnam war. My mother is Thai and my father was an American serviceman. My mother and I moved to America when I was three. I was raised and grew up in Bangor, MI. I got saved when I was 10 or 12 years old at Hartford Federated Church in Hartford, MI, thanks to a public school teacher who invited me and gave me rides to church regularly.
After high school I joined the US Marine Corps. In January of '91 I attended Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem, NC. I finished on May 1, 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Bible with a missions concentration.
In 1992 the Lord opened an opportunity for me to visit my relatives in Thailand for the very first time since I left at age three. God gave me the burden for their souls when I went with them to a Buddhist Temple and saw them bowing down to a statue. After that trip I returned to Thailand several times on missions trips. I met my wife there in July of '96. We got engaged a year later and were married in November 1997. In May 2001 the Lord brought us back to Thailand for full-time ministry. I am glad to say that I'm back in the where I was born and where I truly belong.
I spent 1 1/2 years learning the Thai language. It's been very challenging relearning my native tongue (which is the only language I spoke until I was three years old). We moved to Kabinburi (about 2 1/2 hours east of Bangkok) in June 2003 and started a work there, reaching out to my Grandma, Aunts and Uncles, cousins and the townspeople.
I have been part of the volunteer teaching staff at Romphrakhun Baptist Bible Institute in Bangkok teaching English and Bible classes. I count this as a privilege to be part of the Thai students' lives in growing in the Lord and preparing for the ministry.
