Building God's Foundations of Truth in the Hearts of the Thai People

Our Ministries in Thailand

Ministering in Kabinburi, Prachinburi province. Kabin, as we call it, is 2 1/2 hours east of Bangkok (125 miles); 1 1/2 hours away from the Cambodian border (55 miles). Our main ministry is church planting. We are at the early stages of planting a church in the town of Kabinburi. Most of Ed's Thai relatives, especially his Grandmother, are living here. The town has about 100,000 people. There is a Pentecostal Church, a Jehovah's Witness Church and a Catholic Church and School. We're the only fundamental group. Church planting will take years but we know that it's possible by God's grace.

Student Center and Church Planting
Many Thais get saved through free English classes that we offer and accompanying Bible studies. This is one of the most effective tools in reaching them. Also one other tool is friendship evangelism, which a lot of Thais respond to. God has provided friendships with many Thais in our neighborhood and at the shops around town. We also build relationships with our students and the parents of the kids that come to our student center.

Music Ministry
Darlene is in-charged of the music in our Student Center and worship services, and has been teaching piano to a several kids from among our English students. She also assigns young people for special music during our services and trains them in singing.

Discipleship
We believe that discipleship comes not only through Bible studies, discipleship classes and music ministry, but also through living life with practical Christianity before others. We build close friendships with Christians and show them how to apply God's Word in their daily lives. We have the believers get involved in our church with the goal that the church we plant will become indigenous so we can move on to another place of ministry and start the whole process again.

Short-Term Teams and Individuals
Since we joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 1998, we have hosted short-term individuals and teams almost every year. Short-termers spend between two weeks to three months with us, teaching English in our student center/church, making friends with Thais, or help us with the "odd jobs" missionaries have to do, like cleaning, painting and organizing. Many of those short-termers have gone on to become career missionaries. If you or your church is interested in coming to experience missionary work first hand, please contact us or Baptist Mid-Missions.
